Concert by the Australian band Playlunch, blending retro dance and 'Bogan Funk' at The Blue Room at Third Man Records.
Playlunch plays The Blue Room at Third Man Records on Thursday, October 22, at 7 PM. The show is presented by Third Man Events and is one stop on the Playlunch Tour 2026, which runs from August 6 to October 31 across 16 concerts in 15 cities.
Playlunch is the project of producer and multi-instrumentalist Liam Bell, who put it together in a Melbourne share-house home studio during lockdown. He describes the sound as 'Bogan Funk'—a mix of retro dance music, late '90s and early 2000s Aussie nostalgia, and suburban swagger. The band first appeared in April 2022, and their 2023 debut album, Who's Ready For A Good Time?, picked up viral TikTok moments and high rotation on triple j. Since then, they've played sold-out 500-capacity shows across Australia, and a 2024 showcase at BIGSOUND helped establish them as one of the country's most exciting emerging acts.
