Weekly open mic night where songwriters of all ages and genres share original music, hosted by singer-songwriter Barbara Cloyd.
The Bluebird Cafe holds its open mic on Monday nights, with singer-songwriter Barbara Cloyd hosting. It's a weekly tradition at the Green Hills spot, and the upcoming dates are October 19 and 26, and November 2, 9, 16, and 23. The night is open to songwriters of all ages and genres, and the performances range from novices to semi-professionals, so you'll hear a mix of experience levels in one room.
If you're thinking of playing, you'll need to be quick. Sign-ups happen online the morning of the show at 11 AM CST, and only the first 18 performers are selected. It's a first-come, first-served system, so the slots fill up fast. If you're just coming to listen, the room is open to all ages, though the bar area is restricted to 21 and over.

For the audience, it's a first-come, first-served seating arrangement, and the venue doesn't allow holding spots in line, so you'll want to get there early if you have a particular spot in mind. The show starts at 6 PM, with doors opening at 5:30 PM, and admission is $0.00.
