New Material Monday

New Material Monday kicks off at Zanies Nashville Comedy Night Club on October 12, and it's a weekly series that runs through January 25, 2027. That's 14 Mondays in a row, so if you miss one, there's another coming the following week. The club is at 2025 8th Ave S, and the format is simple: Nashville comedians paired with nationally touring headliners.

Here's the thing that makes it different from a standard comedy night: the lineups are never announced in advance. You won't know who's taking the stage until you're in the room. The club bills the bills as guaranteed to be incredible, and they lean on a local scene they position as one of the fastest-growing in the country. The whole point is the "new material" part of the name—it's a room for comedians to work out new bits in front of a live audience, so you're hearing things as they're being built rather than a polished set they've done a hundred times.

It's aimed at adults, and there are a couple of house rules to keep in mind. There's a two-item minimum per person from the menu, and cell phones are subject to being locked away in Yonder bags, so you'll be off your phone for the night. Entry is by Will Call only—no physical or digital tickets to print or collect, just your driver's license at the door.

Doors open at 6 PM, and the show starts at 7 PM. Tickets are $16.
