A theatrical production for early childhood development that invites young children to join in with classic nursery rhymes.
Mother Goose is running at Nashville Children's Theatre on Middleton Street through October 25, 2026. It's part of the theatre's Snuggery Series, the strand they dedicate to early childhood development, which pairs interactive and immersive theatre with the cognitive, social and emotional growth of children aged 0 to 5.
The show follows Mother Goose through a silly, laugh-out-loud version of her typical day. Along the way, she works through some of her most beloved nursery rhymes and invites the audience to join in with each classic story, leaving them with the idea that the best way to get things done is to do them together. Janet Stanford is behind the program.
NCT itself is a long-standing, venerated company that's broken barriers and set the standard for excellence in theatre for younger audiences. Its productions are noted for being fun and inclusive for children of all ages and abilities, and families have praised the space for letting young children experience the stage in their own way.
