Guided birding walk to search for resident and migratory birds along the Little Harpeth River Greenway, led by Graham Gerdeman.
Migration Birding at the Little Harpeth River is happening at the Warner Park Nature Center on Saturday, October 10, from 7 AM to 9 AM. It's a guided birding walk along the Little Harpeth River Greenway, run by the Warner Parks BIRD Program and led by Graham Gerdeman. The whole point is to get out there and look for both resident and migratory birds, and the Greenway path along the river is one of the best spots in the city to find them.
If you're not a regular birder, it's a good way to start. The walk is open to anyone 13 and up, and you'll need to register by email. It's free to join, so there's nothing stopping you from spending a Saturday morning with a pair of binoculars and a guide who knows what to look for.
The walk is part of the broader life at the Nature Center, which they describe as a place where people and nature come together. It's also a jump-off point for exploring more than 3,100 acres of Nashville's Burch Reserve, Percy Warner and Edwin Warner Parks. The Center itself serves as a natural history and education reference and a resource for organic gardening and native plant landscaping, sharing its living laboratory through free programs throughout the year, school field trips and high school labs, and outdoor recreation and events for all ages.

If you want to stop by the center on other days, it's open 9 AM to 4 PM Tuesday through Saturday, while the parks themselves run from sunrise until 11 PM. The walk is at the Warner Park Nature Center, 7311 Hwy 100, Nashville, TN 37221, and it's free.
