Concert by the Nashville-based blues guitarist, songwriter and singer Meg Williams at Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar.
Meg Williams plays Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar on Wednesday, October 14. She's a Nashville-based guitarist, songwriter and singer who works across a few different setups: she performs with her full band, as a solo act, as a duo, and as a guitarist for other artists. This is a local show, and she's the main feature.
She's been playing the blues circuit for a while now. In 2019, she won the Kentucky Blues Challenge and represented the Kentucky Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis that same year. From there, she was selected as house band director for the International Women in Blues Showcase during the IBC's 2019 and 2020 editions. Her full-length album, Take Me As I Am: The Muscle Shoals Sessions, was recorded at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals and released through Nola Blue Records. It won a Bronze Medal at the 2019 Global Music Awards and has played on Sirius XM's Bluesville and on radio worldwide; the song "Little Bit of the Devil" reached number two on the Top 50 Blues Rock songs chart. She independently released Live and Learn on October 29, 2021, and the title track was an International Songwriting Competition semi-finalist.
