Country, soul and pop singer-songwriter Maura Streppa performs with Round on the Road at Parton's Live, part of the Dolly Parton concert series.
Maura Streppa plays Parton's Live at Dolly Parton's Songteller Hotel on Wednesday, October 28, as part of the Dolly Parton series. She'll be performing with Round on the Road.
Streppa is a country, soul, and pop singer-songwriter who describes her sound as blending Chicago grit with Carolina charm. It's a mix that draws on the places she's called home: Illinois, North Carolina, and Nashville, Tennessee. She writes and sings with a soulful, textured delivery that stretches from high-energy barroom anthems to bruised-but-hopeful confessionals and intimate snapshots from her own life. To date, she's released 21 songs, and her work has caught the attention of Billboard, American Songwriter, SiriusXM's The Highway, and iHeartRadio's Women of Country. Her song "Singer and the Song" won the 2022 Tennessee Songwriters Week title.
With that range—the loud, rowdy side and the quiet, confessional side—her sets tend to move between the two rather than sticking to one mood. The barroom anthems are the ones you can sing along to with a drink in your hand; the confessionals are the ones you listen to in a quiet room. Hearing both in one night gives you a better sense of where she's coming from than either would on its own.
