Blues CD release celebration featuring Mark Hummel, Anson Funderburgh, and Frank Bang & The Secret Stash.
Mark Hummel brings his new album Road Dog to 3rd & Lindsley on Wednesday, October 14, for a release party that pulls together three distinct flavors of the blues in one night. Hummel is a Blues Music Award winner and Grammy nominee who's spent more than four decades touring and recording alongside the genre's legends, and he's known as one of the most influential harmonica players still working. The night is presented by The Galaxie Agency.
He's not taking the stage alone. Joining him is special guest Anson Funderburgh, one of America's most acclaimed blues guitarists, who brings a Texas blues sound to the bill. Then there's Frank Bang & The Secret Stash, a hard-driving blend of Chicago blues and rock 'n' roll led by Frank Bang, a former Buddy Guy guitarist. Between Hummel's harmonica, Funderburgh's Texas guitar, and Bang's Chicago-rooted rock, the lineup covers a good stretch of the blues map.
