Lawnwarming party celebrating the return of the Lightning 100's Live on the Green concert series, with Guster and Grace Potter.
Guster and Grace Potter headline the Lawnwarming Party at Ascend Federal Credit Union Amphitheater on Sunday, October 18. It's the return of Live on the Green, the free community concert series Lightning 100 started back in 2009. For years it ran every fall at Public Square Park, behind the Metro Courthouse, where it built its name on multi-day lineups that paired emerging local acts with national headliners. Over the years, that list grew to include Alabama Shakes, Gary Clark Jr., Cage the Elephant, Portugal. The Man, The Head & the Heart, Spoon, The Wallflowers, Sheryl Crow, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, and COIN.
The series went quiet during the pandemic and came back for what was billed as its final year in 2022. Now Lightning 100 and Opry Entertainment Group have brought it back after a five-year hiatus, and the Lawnwarming Party marks its move to a new riverfront home at Ascend. The bill leans on alumni headliners, with Guster and Grace Potter taking the top spots. They're joined by special guests Beach Weather, The Brummies, Lucie Silvas, and Kara Frazier.
