Concert by singer-songwriter Julia Kate Snow, whose sound blends Americana, country, blues and rock.
Julia Kate Snow plays the Big Machine Store & Distillery on Friday, October 16, at 2 PM. She's a Texas-born singer and songwriter whose sound blends Americana, country, blues and rock, and this is a solo date.
Snow comes from Ovilla, Texas, and has been playing since she was four, starting on classical piano and picking up the guitar from her father when she was twelve. After finishing her degree at the University of Texas, she moved to Nashville in 2016 to focus on songwriting. She's cited Sean McConnell, Lori McKenna, Janis Joplin and Grace Potter as influences, and you can hear that mix of country songwriting and rock-and-roll grit in her work.
She's spent more than a decade writing and performing in bars across Texas and Nashville, with five years in a band and the journey of motherhood in between. Now she's stepped out as a solo artist, and this show comes as she prepares to release her debut EP, which is set to roll out in Fall 2025. The set will be her own songs, the kind of material she's been honing in those bars for years.
