Country music singer and songwriter Jake Hoot performs at the newly opened Dolly Parton's SongTeller Hotel in downtown Nashville.
Jake Hoot plays Dolly Parton's SongTeller Hotel in downtown Nashville on Monday, October 12, starting at 5 PM. He's a country singer and songwriter, and the bill is just him.
If you haven't been inside the SongTeller yet, it's worth a look even if you're just there for the music. The hotel is a partnership between Dolly Parton and Herschend Family Entertainment—the company behind Dollywood in Pigeon Forge—and it opened its doors on September 29, 2026. It's a twelve-story building downtown with 245 rooms and suites, some with sound-wave carpets and Acoustic suites with guitars on the walls. The lobby rounds out the look with fringed chandeliers, raspberry sofas, and a rainbow-patterned carpet.
The third floor houses Dolly's Life of Many Colors Museum, more than 20,000 square feet of exhibits run by Parton's niece, Rebecca Seaver, who is executive director of the museum and the Dolly Parton Archives. Seaver calls it the largest exhibit celebrating Parton's life anywhere in the world, and it traces her early years and six-decade career—from film roles like 9 to 5 and Steel Magnolias to her philanthropy, including the Imagination Library.

The hotel also leans into its namesake with 'SongTeller Rituals': a Parton song played at the top of every hour, a creative-writing hour in the Listening Lobby, and a twilight tour of the public areas and the museum. Hoot takes the stage at 5 PM.
