Post-hardcore band I Prevail perform with headliners Three Days Grace and The Funeral Portrait at the Bridgestone Arena.
I Prevail are playing the Bridgestone Arena on Sunday, November 1, with Three Days Grace and The Funeral Portrait opening. It's a Nashville stop on the Three Days Grace - Alienation Tour, so you've got three bands on one bill rather than just one.
If you're not familiar with I Prevail, they're a post-hardcore band from Southfield, Michigan, that formed in 2013. They first made a name for themselves with a cover of Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" in 2014, which racked up over 20 million views on YouTube and landed on Punk Goes Pop, Vol. 6. Their 2015 debut EP, Heart Vs. Mind, earned them opening slots for Crown the Empire, Hollywood Undead, and Pop Evil, and they headlined the Strike the Match Tour in 2016. Since then, they've put out full-length albums including Life Lines and Trauma.
The sound is built around two voices: clean singer Brian Burkheiser and screamer Eric Vanlerberghe. That pairing is the whole point of the band, and it's how they work their songs—they lean into calm, melodic sections and then drop into heavy breakdowns. Setlist staples you'll likely hear include "Violent Nature," "Crossroads," "Love, Lust, and Liars," and "The Enemy."
