Concert by the music project Goth Babe at The Truth venue in Nashville.
Goth Babe plays The Truth on Tuesday, October 13, at 8 PM. The project is the work of Griff Washburn, a Tennessee native who's spent the last few years living off the grid in his 1996 Ford F-250 with his dog, Sadie, surfing the coasts of California and Oregon. It's a homecoming of sorts for him, playing a Nashville room after a long stretch on the West Coast.
Washburn wrote his first songs in a dorm room at age 18, and what started as a goofy band name grew into something more than a side hustle. He toured in 2016 and spent part of 2017 living in New York before making the move west. He describes making music as a form of free thinking and enjoyment rather than a climb to the top, and that's a good way to frame the whole thing: it's about the process of doing it, not where it's supposed to lead.
