Weekly coffee cupping experience to taste coffees roasted on site at Frothy Monkey Roasting Co.
Frothy Monkey Roasting Co. is hosting its weekly coffee cupping on Friday, October 16, at its office and roastery, 201 Blanton Ave, about ten minutes from downtown Nashville. If you've never been, a cupping is the standard way coffee professionals evaluate quality and consistency: several coffees are brewed using the same method at the same time and presented side by side to be graded. You determine the flavor notes against a flavor wheel, much like the ones used in wine tasting.
At Frothy Monkey, the sessions are led by the roasters themselves and feature coffees roasted on site at the roasting company's facility. Because the roasters are the ones running the table, you get to hear from the people who actually handled the beans. It's a good way to see how a professional tasting works from the inside, rather than just drinking a cup at home and guessing what's in it.
Places are limited to a dozen people per cupping, so it stays a small group. If you're coming with a crowd, groups of five or more—or private group bookings—can be arranged by emailing the shop. At the end of the session, attendees get a 15% discount on coffee and merchandise.

The cupping is free and open to the public. It runs weekly on Fridays throughout 2026, with upcoming dates on October 16, October 23, November 6, November 13, December 4, and December 11.
