A floral weaving workshop where participants create a textile and dried flower hanging piece.
Jennifer Fleischer of Ibu Textiles is leading a fall floral weaving workshop at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens & Estate on Saturday, October 10. It's a hands-on session where you'll weave a wall hanging using textiles and dried flowers, so you'll walk away with something you actually made rather than just watching someone else do it.
If you've never tried weaving before, this is a good place to start. The focus is on combining soft textiles with the dried florals of the season, and the end result is a hanging piece you can put on your wall. Fleischer brings her background from Ibu Textiles to the table, and the whole thing takes place inside the Frist Learning Center Studios at Cheekwood, so you're working in a dedicated studio space rather than a multipurpose room.
