Dwight Yoakam brings his blend of honky-tonk country, Bakersfield sound and Americana to the historic Ryman Auditorium.
Dwight Yoakam plays Ryman Auditorium on Wednesday, November 4, and Thursday, November 5, 2026, both nights starting at 8 PM. He'll be joined on stage by Sunny Black.
If you're not already familiar with him, Yoakam is a country singer-songwriter who built his name on the Bakersfield sound—that lean, electric country that came out of California rather than the Nashville establishment. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio, moved to Nashville, and then headed west to Los Angeles, where he bought a place near his idol and mentor, Buck Owens, in Bakersfield. He's been recording since the early 1980s and has put more than thirty singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, with over 25 million albums sold worldwide. His most commercially successful period came with Pete Anderson as his production and arranging partner.
One of the records that stands out is his 1989 Grammy-winning album The Streets of Bakersfield, which is credited with revitalizing the career of the late Buck Owens. Since then, he's earned 21 Grammy nominations and was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2019. He's also spent a fair amount of time in front of the camera, appearing in more than 40 films, including Sling Blade (1996) and Logan Lucky (2017). In 2018, he launched his own SiriusXM channel, Dwight Yoakam and The Bakersfield Beat.
