Art exhibition by Donna Isham exploring transformation and beauty, featuring immersive installations, portraiture, sculpture and large-scale abstract paintings.
Donna Isham is showing at Soulios Gallery from October 2 through December 20, 2026. The exhibition, Transformation and Beauty, is a major solo show and marks the Los Angeles-based artist's Nashville debut.
It's a broad collection that brings together immersive installations, expressive portraiture, sculpture, and large-scale abstract paintings. Isham works through a contemporary expressionist lens to explore the space between perception and reality, memory and consciousness, and our evolving understanding of beauty. The centerpiece is the debut of In the Darkness... I Could Hear Your Voice, an immersive painting she created in collaboration with composer Mark Isham.
That cinematic quality comes from her background. Isham studied at the University of California, Berkeley, trained in fine art and design, and spent time working in film, costume design, and styling. The show runs through the end of the year, so there's plenty of time to catch it, but the opening weekend is when you'll find the artist herself in the room. The Exhibit Opening Gala is Friday, October 2, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, and the Artist Talk with Donna Isham is Saturday, October 3, at 12 PM. RSVP is requested for both.

Soulios Gallery is at 209 10th Avenue South in Downtown Nashville. The gallery focuses on classic modern and contemporary art, and this show fits right into that—a West Coast artist bringing a large-scale solo exhibition to the city for the first time. If you're planning to go to the gala or the talk, it's worth reaching out ahead of time since they're asking for RSVPs.
