Cliff Dorsey joins Neon Outpost Round at The Green Light for an intimate night of original music.
Cliff Dorsey joins the Neon Outpost Round at The Green Light Bar on Sunday, October 11. It's a Nashville country night, and Dorsey takes the stage for an 8 PM round. If you've been following the local scene, you know the format: a songwriter's round, where the songs take center stage and the stories behind them usually come out between sets.
Dorsey is a Nashville-based country artist originally from High Springs, Florida, and he works with a rich baritone that sits right in the traditional country pocket. His sound pulls from '90s country and blends it with modern storytelling, and he's built a decent chart run around it. Two of his singles, "Your Guess" and "When I Think Aldean," both hit the Top 40 on the MusicRow chart, and "When I Think Aldean" went on to reach number one on the CDX Nashville True Indie Chart. Between those two, you get a good sense of where he's coming from—traditional roots with a contemporary edge.
He's spent time opening for Justin Moore, HARDY, and Riley Green, and has played dates at Whiskey Jam, Loser's Live, and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation's Fire Hero Beach Bash. This one is a bit different from those bigger stages, though: it's a round, which usually means a more stripped-back, focused set than a full-band show. You'll hear the songs as they were written, with the focus on the lyrics and that baritone voice.
