A screening of the comedy film 'Christmas Vacation' at the Jackalope Brewing Company taproom, part of their holiday tradition.
Jackalope Brewing Company is bringing back National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation on Sunday, December 13, for another screening of the holiday classic. It's a tradition that's become a favorite around Nashville, and this year it returns to the same spot in Wedgewood-Houston.
If you haven't spent much time there, Jackalope is a working craft-beer brewery at 429B Houston St, right in the heart of the neighborhood. It's an industrial-modern space that pours 29 beers on tap, with their Black Abbey flagships sitting alongside seasonals and small batches. The taproom also has a full food menu, a dog-friendly patio, and weekly live music on an outdoor stage, so it's the kind of place that works just as well for a quick pint as it does for hanging out for the afternoon.
The screening is staged in partnership with the Nashville Film Festival, and the brewery bills it as the work of "the jolliest bunch ... this side of the nuthouse." It's a straightforward setup: a big screen, a room full of people, and the Griswolds trying to save Christmas. If you've seen the movie a dozen times, that's half the point—it's more about watching it with a crowd than discovering something new.

Keep in mind that while this has become a regular part of the city's holiday calendar, the screening hasn't been officially confirmed for this edition yet, so it's worth checking in closer to the date before you make your plans. The brewery is at 429B Houston St in Nashville's Wedgewood-Houston district.
