Chanel Beads w/ Horse Vision, Car Culture

Chanel Beads plays The Blue Room at Third Man Records on Friday, October 9, with Horse Vision and Car Culture opening. It's a Third Man Events show, general admission and all ages, so you can bring whoever you want.

Chanel Beads is the project of Shane Lavers, who started recording under the name in 2016 while living in Seattle. Before that, he worked at a library for the blind; by 2022, he'd moved to New York. His second album, Your Day Will Come, shares its title with the project's 2024 experimental debut, but it's a completely new body of work rather than a sequel. Lavers originally chose the phrase to poke fun at the way music gets divided into chapters, but as the songs developed, he found it carried a deeper nuance, evoking the duel between certainty and doubt that preoccupied his psyche. His androgynous vocals and genre-averse songs have taken him from house shows and abandoned train tunnels to supporting Lorde on her recent North American arena tour.

Doors open at 7 PM, and the show starts at 8 PM. Tickets are $32.05.
