International banjo champion Kyle Tuttle performs jamgrass on the Bluegrass Mondays series at Dee's Country Cocktail Lounge.
Kyle Tuttle is the featured act for Bluegrass Mondays at Dee's Country Cocktail Lounge on Monday, October 5, from 6 PM to 8:30 PM. The night is part of the Bluegrass Mondays series presented by Bluegrass Nashville, with support from Yazoo Brewing Company and Willie's Remedy. It's a regular Monday night at Dee's in East Nashville, and the series mixes jamgrass flair with straight-ahead bluegrass.
Tuttle is an international banjo champion from Cumming, Georgia, who's been a fixture of the Nashville scene since he moved here in 2012. He spent three years in the Jeff Austin Band and has worked alongside jamgrass names like Larry Keel, the Travelin' McCourys, Leftover Salmon, Greensky Bluegrass, Billy Strings, and Railroad Earth. He also works as a studio musician in the city, so he's a familiar face around town even if you haven't caught him on a stage.
One thing to keep in mind is that the night doesn't end when the main set does. At 9 PM, the room shifts into a showcase of some of Nashville's best established and up-and-coming bluegrass bands, so you can stick around and hear a few more acts after Tuttle finishes up. If you're coming for the banjo, you'll get that and then a whole lot more from the local scene in one go.
