Grammy-winning artist Beck performs live at The Truth in Nashville as part of his Ride the Lonesome tour.
Beck plays The Truth on Saturday, October 31, with Ioanna Gika opening. It's a Halloween night show, and the lineup puts Beck on the bill with Gika, a Greek artist known for her work with the bouzouki.
If you've followed Beck's career, you know it's hard to pin down. He's an eight-time Grammy winner whose work has touched nearly every corner of music. It started with his 1994 debut Mellow Gold, which gave us "Loser"—a 1992 demo that had been rejected before becoming one of the decade's most recognizable songs. That was followed by the lo-fi folk of One Foot in the Grave and then the multi-platinum Odelay in 1996, whose "Where It's At" earned him a Grammy. He's won Best Alternative Music Album twice more since then, for 1998's Mutations and 2019's Colors. In 2014, Morning Phase took home Album of the Year at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards.
He's still adding to the catalog. His 14th studio album, Hyperspace, came out in 2023, and that same year he hit the road for the Summer Odyssey tour with Phoenix co-headlining. After that, he played orchestral sets at New York's Carnegie Hall and London's Royal Albert Hall. This Nashville date falls into that ongoing run of live shows.
