A weekly Saturday session where country music songwriters perform their hits and share the stories behind them at 3rd and Lindsley.
Backstage Nashville! Daytime Hit Songwriters Show is at 3rd and Lindsley on Saturday, November 14, from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. It's an all-ages weekly Saturday session in the city's Downtown/SoBro area, and the draw is straightforward: you get to hear some of country music's biggest songs and the stories behind them, told by the people who actually wrote them.
The lineup for this session is a long one. Aimee Mayo, Chris Lindsey, Summer Overstreet, and Sela Campbell are the main feature, but they're joined by a wide rotation of other writers: Mike Reid, Aaron Raitiere, James LeBlanc, Mae Estes, Elliott Prather, Julia Hutchinson, Mark D. Sanders, Brice Long, Dallas Wilson, Baylee Lynn, Dennis Morgan, Brett Tyler, Mark Irwin, Kimberly Kelly, Brian Fuller, Jim Collins, Marc Beeson, and Jenn Schott. That's over twenty names in one afternoon, so you're likely to hear a good stretch of the country charts coming from different rooms in the same building.
Because it's a songwriters show, the focus is on the songs themselves rather than a single headliner. The writers take turns playing the hits they've penned and talking through how they came together—the lines that almost didn't make the cut, the hooks that clicked, and the artists who eventually recorded them. It's a look at the writing side of the industry that usually stays behind the scenes.

Doors open at 11:00 AM, and the show runs from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. It's an all-ages event, so it works as a midday thing with the family or just a Saturday afternoon out. 3rd and Lindsley is right in the Downtown/SoBro area, so you're close to plenty of other spots if you want to make a full day of it.
