Chicago indie rock band Ax and The Hatchetmen perform on The Late Checkout Tour 2026, with The Hails as the supporting act.
Ax and The Hatchetmen bring their coast-to-coast tour to The Basement East on Thursday, October 15, with The Hails opening. It's part of The Late Checkout Tour 2026, a run that's taking them across the country this autumn.
They're a six-piece indie rock band fronted by Axel Ellis, and they describe their sound as sunburnt guitars and jangly tunes. What started in high school hallways outside Chicago has grown into a band with millions of listeners, a dedicated following, and nearly a decade of life on the road. If you've never seen them live, this is a good chance to catch them in a room that fits their size.
They're not alone on the bill—The Hails open the night, so there are two acts to work through before the headliner takes over. The whole thing is 18 and up, so keep that in mind if you're bringing anyone younger.
