Acoustic and rock show by American Idol season 9 finalist Crystal Bowersox at The Bluebird Cafe.
Crystal Bowersox plays The Bluebird Cafe on Saturday, October 17, with a set that runs from 9 PM to 10:30 PM. It's an acoustic and rock night, and she's the only name on the bill.
If you're not familiar with her, Bowersox is a northwest Ohio native who started playing local clubs and venues by age 10. From there she moved to Chicago, where she busked on subway platforms between odd jobs and school. She auditioned for the ninth season of American Idol and released her debut album, Farmer's Daughter, on Jive Records in 2010. Since then she's put out three LPs, two EPs, and several singles. She's also recorded and performed alongside a number of notable artists and uses her platform to support organizations close to her heart.
Right now she's developing a theatrical rock concert titled Trauma Queen, so this show comes at a time when she's working on new material. The Bluebird set will pull from that acoustic and rock range she's built over the years.
