Aaron Lee Tasjan performs his album release show with special guest Madeleine Kelson at The Basement East.
Aaron Lee Tasjan is playing The Basement East on Wednesday, October 21, for his album release show, with Madeleine Kelson opening. It's a night built around the new record, Get Over It, Underdog, which Tasjan produced himself alongside engineer Mark Miller. He's an Americana rock singer, songwriter, and guitarist who's earned a Grammy nomination over the course of his career, and Underdog follows In the Blazes, Karma for Cheap, and 2024's Stellar Evolution.
The story behind this one is a personal one. Tasjan wrote Get Over It, Underdog after his mentor, Todd Snider, replied to a vulnerable email Tasjan had sent him seeking advice. He's talked about finding his confidence again through playing solo and writing, and he carries on Snider's spirit in the work; he calls the album's "The Real" a personal mantra. It's the kind of record that comes out of a specific conversation, and this show is the first time it'll be out in the air.
