An interactive theatre experience for children aged 0-5 where Detective McDoodle searches for missing alphabet letters, part of the NCT Snuggery Series.
Nashville Children's Theatre premieres A, B, C… What Do You See? on January 30, 2027, and it runs through April 25. It's an NCT original, written and directed by Jenilee Houghton, and it belongs to the Snuggery Series—the company's program for children aged 0-5, built to support cognitive, social and emotional growth and foster a lifelong appreciation of the arts.
The show follows Detective McDoodle and their trusty apprentice as they search for alphabet letters that have gone missing. The premise takes its cue from popular seek-and-find and I spy books, and it invites little theater-goers to play detective along with the characters. It's interactive, so the kids aren't just sitting and watching—they're part of the hunt.
One thing that sets this apart from a typical kids' show is how much thought goes into the accessibility. Every performance includes a Neuro-Inclusive Performance, an ASL Interpreted Performance, and a Discovery Day post-show Q&A. All NCT shows are Sensory Friendly, with a chill corner, visual schedules, sand, bubble and clock timers, and booster seats. If you're bringing a little one who gets overwhelmed or needs a bit of extra support, those details make a real difference.

It's also worth knowing where this is coming from. Nashville Children's Theatre bills itself as the oldest children's theatre in the country, a historic Nashville landmark and the second-highest attended cultural institution in the city. TIME Magazine named it one of the Top Five Theatres for Young Audiences in the US. A, B, C… What Do You See? runs from January 30 through April 25, 2027, at the Nashville Children's Theatre.
