If you've been waiting for a low-key way to lean into autumn in Nashville, the Gulch Fall Market is about to hand it to you. The second annual edition of this pop-up market lands on Saturday, October 17, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, and it's tucked away in one of the city's trendiest neighborhoods. The venue is the second-floor outdoor terrace at Canopy by Hilton Nashville Downtown The Gulch, over at 920 Division St, which gives the whole thing a bit of an elevated feel compared to your average parking-lot market.

The draw here is local and handmade. More than 20 vendors set up shop, and the spread runs the gamut from homemade bread and soap to jewelry and a fair amount of other one-of-a-kind finds. It's the kind of place where you can walk in for a specific gift and walk out with a bag full of things you didn't know you needed. Beyond the shopping, there's live music, seasonal cocktails, and food to keep you lingering, so it's as much about hanging out as it is about buying. The four-hour window is short enough that you won't feel like you're committing your entire day, but long enough to actually browse without rushing.
One thing worth planning around is the neighborhood itself. The Gulch is a walkable stretch, and the market's location makes it easy to build a full afternoon out of. A natural next stop is Five Daughters Bakery, the family-owned spot over at 602 12th Ave S that's become a Nashville fixture in its own right. They're best known for their handmade donuts and pastries, and their 100 Layer Donut — a croissant-donut hybrid — is the one everyone talks about. It's the kind of place that turns a quick stop into a destination, and it's only a short walk from the market.
If you're the type who likes to stack your weekends, it's worth noting that the fall market scene doesn't stop there. The following Saturday, October 24, the 3rd annual Baked on 8th Fall Market takes over 1512 8th Ave S from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. That one's a bit bigger, with more than 30 vendors selling art, vintage clothing, and sweets, plus food trucks, matcha, and coffee. It's free and open to all ages, and it leans into the family-friendly side of things with a Dog's Halloween Costume Contest that benefits the Nashville Humane Society. Sign-ups happen at the table in front of the bakery between 10:00 and 11:00 am, and winners walk away with gift cards for Baked on 8th and Baxter Bailey & Company.
Between the two, you've got a couple of distinct ways to do a fall market in Nashville. The Gulch version is the more laid-back, terrace-top afternoon, while Baked on 8th is the bigger, family-and-dog-friendly morning. Either way, it's a good excuse to get out and support some local makers while the weather's actually cooperating. Just be sure to mark the 17th on your calendar, because the Gulch market only runs for those four hours.
