Exhibition of work by University of Minnesota student, staff and faculty artists at the Coffman Art Gallery.
Through the Looking Lens is on view at the Coffman Art Gallery from September 30, 2026, through January 31, 2027. It's a long run, so you've got plenty of time to catch it over the next few months.
The gallery is on the first floor of the Coffman Memorial Union at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in Minneapolis. It opened in 2003 and focuses on work by the university's own students, staff, and faculty artists. There's also a Second Floor Gallery that opened in autumn 2013, which highlights work from the university's diverse cultures and communities. If you're walking in through the front entrance, you'll see a mural by Marlena Myles, a self-taught Spirit Lake Dakota artist based in St. Paul who uses her work to teach Minnesotans about the Indigenous history of the Twin Cities.

One practical thing to keep in mind: the gallery is sometimes reserved for private events, so it's a good idea to call ahead and make sure it's open before you head over. Admission is free, and the show runs all the way through January 31.
