Drawings by Terrence Payne in response to Operation Metro Surge at Rosalux Gallery.
Terrence Payne is showing a new body of drawings at Rosalux Gallery, running from October 10 through November 1. The show is titled BODY PILE, and it comes from a very specific place: Payne describes the work as a direct reaction to the attacks on neighbors and communities since the Republican government launched Operation Metro Surge in Minnesota over the past year. The drawings confront the toll that's taken on the community's well-being, alongside the courage of the local response.
If you're not familiar with the space, Rosalux Gallery is an artist collective run by working artists here in Minneapolis. They show established contemporary artists and keep their doors free and open to the public, so this is a show you can walk into without a ticket or a reservation. The gallery is at 315 W 48th Street.

There's a reception on Saturday, October 10, from 6 to 9 PM, which is a good time to catch the work when the room is full of people. After that, the show stays up through November 1, so you can drop in whenever you're nearby. Admission is free and open to the public.
