Exhibition at Dreamsong inspired by Arakawa + Gins, featuring works on design, fashion and craft by multiple artists.
Reversible Destiny opened at Dreamsong on October 10 and runs through January 24, 2027. It's a group exhibition that brings together several artists working across design, fashion, and craft, all drawing from the same starting point: the work of Arakawa and Gins.
If those names don't ring a bell, Arakawa and Gins were a long-term artistic duo known for challenging how we think about the body, aging, and the very idea of death. Their Reversible Destiny project was an ongoing attempt to rethink the environment we live in, with the goal of creating spaces that might actually help us live longer or change how we experience time. This show takes that conceptual thread and hands it off to a variety of makers to interpret in their own way.
Because it's a group show, you'll see a few different disciplines under one roof. There's design, fashion, and craft, so you're looking at a mix of objects, clothing, and handmade work rather than just one type of piece. Each artist approaches the Arakawa and Gins influence from their own angle, which means the show changes as you move through itโone room might feel more like a design studio, the next more like a wardrobe or a workshop.
