Sculpture exhibition in the gallery, artist studios and outdoor Sculpture Quad of Casket Arts, celebrating the 32nd International Sculpture Conference.
Proof of Life opens at the Casket Arts Sculpture Quad on Sunday, October 25, from 1:30 PM to 6 PM. It's a sculpture exhibition put on by NE Sculpture Gallery Factory and Casket Arts in the Northeast Arts District, and it's one of the public events tied to the 32nd International Sculpture Conference.
The conference itself is titled The Evolving Field of Sculpture: Shaping the Future of Public Culture, and its main programming—the panels, keynotes, and lunchtime activities—takes place over at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Proof of Life is the exhibition side of that conversation, and it doesn't stay in one room. It fills the gallery, the artist studios, and the outdoor Sculpture Quad, so you'll be moving between indoor and outdoor spaces rather than just walking a single floor.
The Quad is where a good bit of the action is. It hosts the Community Canopy Project, a public art project by 50 artists led by Andrew Mac Guffie, and the sculpture installation Hindsight by Ruthann Godollei and Peter Morales. If you're into the conference's broader focus on public culture, these are the pieces that actually sit out in the open for people to walk around.

There's one more thing to keep an eye out for: the littleSCULPTURE Show, which the conference also presents. It's a collection of small artworks, and the catch is that every single piece is strictly constrained to an 8" x 8" x 8" size. It's a fun contrast to the larger installations you'll see across the site.
Proof of Life runs from 1:30 PM to 6 PM on Sunday, October 25, at the Casket Arts Sculpture Quad, 1720 NE Madison Street in Minneapolis.
