Free benefit concert by One T & Nicole at Phoenix Theater for The Arts' Nest, in memory of its founding executive director Jenna Papke.
One T & Nicole play the Phoenix Theater on Thursday, November 5, for a free benefit concert supporting The Arts' Nest. The duo is Scot Froelich and Nicole Wilder, and the show is staged in memory of Jenna Papke, the founding executive director of The Arts' Nest, who died on September 12 after losing her battle with cancer.
To understand why the night is a benefit, it helps to know what The Arts' Nest actually does. It's the non-profit that runs the Phoenix Theater as a live-performance venue, and it exists to nurture emerging artists and arts professionals through a few different programs: Hatch for education, Fledgling for new productions, Kindling as a resources directory, and Plumage & Sparks as a lobby art exhibit. The concert is a way to support that work and honor Papke's role in starting it.
The evening runs about 75 minutes, and it's recommended for audiences of all ages. Before the music starts, there's a reception in the lobby with snacks and company, so you can arrive early and hang out before the show begins. The theater is at 2605 Hennepin Ave in Minneapolis.
