Album release show for Nur-D's 'HELL', with Brandyn Lee Tulloch, DJ Hayes and Brass Solidarity, presented by The Current and 18+.
Nur-D is bringing his new album release show to Green Room on Saturday, October 24, with Brandyn Lee Tulloch, DJ Hayes, and Brass Solidarity joining him on the bill. The night is presented by The Current.
If you're not familiar with the name, Nur-D is Matt Allen, a Minneapolis musician who started as a theater kid and frontman of the rock outfit Saving Vinyl City/Black Genesis before pivoting to hip-hop. He entered the 'Shut Up & Rap' competition in 2018 and won it four timesβa run that earned him a slot at Soundset, where he shared the stage with the Wu-Tang Clan, Tyler, The Creator, and Migos. He later teamed up with DJ Hayes and picked up best new artist, best live performer, and best musician honors from several publications, playing venues from US Bank Stadium to Paisley Park and landing a spot at SXSW, while opening for acts like Ludacris and MisterWives.
His music wanders through geek culture, government overreach, self-love, mental health, and the Black struggle. He's released nine full-length albums and more than 150 songs, and he's also become a professional wrestler. HELL is his eleventh full-length project, and he says that with it 'the gloves are coming all the way off.'
