Free Thursday evening of frozen sculptures in Target Park, a couture demonstration by Sonya Berlovitz, a gallery walk with Jahna Peloquin and dancing with DJ McShellen.
Meet at Mia returns to the Minneapolis Institute of Art on Thursday, January 14, 2027, with an edition called Frozen Frocks. It's part of the museum's series of free Thursday evening events for adults, which usually bring together live music, art-making, and special programming. This one centers on the museum's Paris Couture exhibition, and it's the night that closes it.
The main attraction is the annual appearance of frozen sculptures in Target Park, which depict works from the museum's collection. You can stroll through the galleries with Jahna Peloquin, the museum's vintage curator and style editor, and head over to Mia's studios to make your own winter accessory. There's also a demonstration by designer Sonya Berlovitz, and DJ McShellen will be playing in the lobby.
It's a night that pulls from a few different parts of the museum at once: the sculptures outside, the Paris Couture exhibition inside, and the hands-on work in the studios. If you've been following the Paris Couture show throughout its run, this is the final chance to see it.
