Traditional Irish music session held at Padraigs Brewing on Broadway in Minneapolis.
Padraigs Brewing is hosting another Irish Trad Session on Tuesday, October 27, at their brewery in Northeast Minneapolis. It's a traditional Irish music session, the kind of thing where the music is the whole point of the evening rather than a side act. If you've been around the city's trad scene, you know the format: a group of musicians gathering to play the tunes they know, usually with a mix of jigs, reels, and hornpipes that keep the energy moving.
This isn't a formal concert with a setlist and a stage. It's a session, which means it's built on the tradition of people coming together to play. The music is the main feature, and the whole evening revolves around it. If you're a player yourself, these are the kinds of nights that can turn into a jam; if you're just there to listen, you get to hear the music as it happens, without a big production around it.
It's part of a regular run at the brewery, with another session on October 13, so if you miss this one, there's another chance coming up soon. Both are held at the same spot, and the music is the focus for both.
