Exhibition of printmaking works by Ruthann Godollei at NE Sculpture, exploring social issues through satirical text and multiple media.
Ruthann Godollei is showing Hindsight at NE Sculpture from September 18 through October 17, 2026. The exhibition is at the Gallery Factory, 1730 NE Madison, in the Casket Arts Building #14, in Minneapolis.
Godollei is a printmaker based in St. Paul, where she also owns and runs Printland Press LLC. She works across multiple media and frequently incorporates satiric text to comment on social issues and abuses of power, with a bleak sense of humor that ranges from climate change to civil liberties and basic human rights. That combination of printmaking and political commentary is a good way to get a sense of what she brings to the gallery.
She's also a Professor of Art at Macalester College and was a 2022-23 McKnight Visual Artist Fellow. In 2019, she held a Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Printmaking at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Beyond the studio, she's written the DIY printmaking book How to Create Your Own... (Voyageur Press) and Road Show, ArtCars and the Museum of the Streets.
