Guster performs a career-spanning set with the Minnesota Orchestra, conducted by Sarah Hicks.
Guster play Orchestra Hall on Friday, March 5, 2027, at 7 PM, backed by the Minnesota Orchestra. It's a career-spanning set, so they'll be pulling from their whole catalog rather than one specific record.
If you're not familiar with the band, Guster formed at Tufts University near Boston in 1992. They've spent over three decades building a following on catchy, poppy melodies and a distinctive hand-drumming sound. Over that time they've put out studio albums like Parachute, Goldfly, Lost and Gone Forever, Keep It Together, and Ganging Up on the Sun, along with the 2004 live record Guster On Ice. They've worked with producers like Steve Lillywhite and Richard Swift, launched their own music festival, and landed several Billboard hits.
There are a few band stories that stick around, too: frontman Brian was once trapped inside a public toilet in Paris during the band's 2015 European tour, and Adam appeared skiing and playing in the Warren Miller film Children of Winter. This show puts them in a different setting than usual, though. Sarah Hicks, the Minnesota Orchestra's principal conductor of Live at Orchestra Hall, leads the symphony as it reimagines Guster's introspective lyrics and hooks for full orchestra.
