Opening reception of Natalie Mazorol's first exhibition at the David Petersen Gallery, with paintings that blend figure and abstraction.
Natalie Mazorol opens her first exhibition at David Petersen Gallery on Saturday, November 7, with an opening reception from 6 PM to 8 PM. The show, titled Funreal, runs through January 10, 2027, at 4116 Cedar Ave S in Minneapolis.
Mazorol's paintings center on figures whose faces are reduced, while the bodies become layered, scraped, and reworked surfaces. The critic's note frames the work as a figurative event within an abstraction, where the mind resides in the paint rather than behind the eyes. Among the pieces on view is gone is gone, an acrylic on canvas from 2026.
