Exhibition of Latino/a artists in Minnesota, with a reception held at the Hewing Hotel.
Fragmentos: Latin Art in Minnesota opens at the Hewing Hotel on Thursday, October 15, with a reception running from 5 PM to 8 PM. The exhibition brings together a cohort of Latino/a artists who share a spoken language but come from diverse backgrounds—part of a diaspora that has brought them to Minnesota and leaves them straddling two worlds.
The venue is in the North Loop, in a building that started life in 1897 as a farm implement warehouse and showroom before it was revitalized into the hotel. Its name comes from the giant pine beams that abound inside, and the hotel leans into its Minnesota surroundings throughout. Tullibee Restaurant takes its name from a fish found in many of the state's 10,000 lakes, and the menus draw on the woods and lakes with a nod to the state's Scandinavian roots, following rural Nordic practices of foraging, butchery, and fermentation.

Across the property, the 124 guest rooms, Tullibee Restaurant & Lounge, and all event spaces were refreshed in early 2026. The reception on the 15th is the first chance to see the show in person, so if you're around the North Loop that evening, it's a good time to drop in. The reception runs from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Hewing Hotel.
