Solo show of realist landscape paintings in oil and acrylic by local artist Ava Lambert, free to attend.
Ava Lambert has a solo show on view at Yellowbird Coffee Bar NE through October 31, with the opening reception on Thursday, October 8, from 6 to 8 PM. The show runs from October 1 through the end of the month, so if you miss the reception, you've still got a few weeks to catch it.
Lambert is a local Minneapolis landscape painter, and this exhibition gathers dozens of pieces from a body of work she's been building over the last decade. The paintings are in oil and acrylic, and they split their focus between nature and cityscapes. Her style is realist, and she describes the work as drawing on themes of memory, place, and transformation. Seeing so many pieces from a ten-year span in one room gives you a pretty good sense of how she's approached those ideas over time.
