Annie & Rod Capps

Annie & Rod Capps play The Royal Sonesta Minneapolis Downtown on Thursday, October 22, at 7 PM. The duo comes from Chelsea, Michigan, and their sound sits right at the intersection of Americana and folk, with rock, jazz and bluegrass influences mixed in. They'll be joined on stage by band members Ozzie Andrews and Jason Dennie.

Their eighth studio recording, When They Fall, continues their practice of mixing styles. They describe their songs as "about broken things and poignant little ponderings delivered with a rootsy vibe, a touch of twang and soulful groove."

The show is part of Folk Alliance Midwest Region 2026, a music conference that runs from Thursday, October 22, through Sunday, October 25. Annie Capps has a personal connection to the event: she once directed the conference and remains active with it, splitting her time between performing and volunteering alongside networking, educational panels, workshops and community activities. The conference opens with a keynote address by Gaelynn Lea.

Annie & Rod Capps take the stage at 7 PM on Thursday, October 22, at The Royal Sonesta Minneapolis Downtown.
