Scottish folk quartet Gnoss plays The Cedar's Global Roots Series, a seated all-ages show.
Gnoss play The Cedar Cultural Center on Sunday, April 11, 2027. They're a neotraditional Scottish folk quartet, and the show is part of The Cedar's Global Roots Series, presented alongside Celtic Junction Arts Center. It's a seated show and open to all ages.
If you haven't come across them, Gnoss build their sound on acoustic layers and deep traditional roots, but they pull in contemporary composition to give their songs a distinct character. They've been nominated three times for the Scots Trad Music Awards and have built a following around a forward-thinking approach to traditional music. Their live shows have a particular warmth to them, and they've played to sellout crowds at Glasgow's Celtic Connections.
Their records trace a clear path from the traditional toward the modern. Drawn From Deep Water took them across France, Italy, and Denmark in 2019. The Light of The Moon earned an Album of the Year nomination at the Scots Trad Music Awards and passed a million streams in 2022. Their most recent album, Stretching Skyward, came out in 2023; it reunited them with producer Scott Wood of Skerryvore and brought electronic elements into the mix.
