A soul and blues concert by The Vintage Explosion, the stage name of Will Hitchell and his band, known for viral covers and chart-topping blues albums.
The Vintage Explosion play the RNCM Theatre on Saturday 20 February, starting at 7.00pm. The name is the stage name of Will Hitchell, a Scottish singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who'll be performing with his band.
Hitchell first came to wide attention in late 2022 when his soul-soaked cover of Sam Cooke's 'A Change Is Gonna Come' went viral, picking up more than a billion views and impressions across TikTok, Facebook and beyond. Since then, he and his band have put four No 1 albums on the Worldwide Apple Blues Chart, and one reached No 3 on the overall Worldwide Apple Album Chart, sitting between Taylor Swift and Arctic Monkeys. They've also placed in the US Billboard Blues Top 10 and the Official UK Top 40.
His debut album of self-penned songs, Havin' Such a Good Time, came out in August 2023 and went straight to No 1 on the Worldwide Apple Blues Album Chart, producing the No 1 singles 'Don't Knock Upon My Door' and 'Take My Troubles Away'. In 2025 came Saturday Night, which includes the No 1 single 'Sweet Love' and had reached 9 million streams by November that year. His latest album, Life and Soul, arrived on 31 July 2026.
