A comic storytelling show blending music, comedy and a Viking helmet, exploring death, friendship and the absurdity of life.
Team Viking plays Home on Thursday 15 October, a comic ode to death, friendship and the absurdity of life. It's a true story: the performer tells how he gave his best friend Tom, diagnosed with heart cancer and given three months to live, the Viking burial he'd requested as his last wish.
On stage, that story comes together through storytelling, music, comedy and an actual Viking helmet. It's a mix that doesn't shy away from the heavy stuff, but finds its way to the funny, too. The show premiered in a tiny meeting room at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe and became a breakthrough hit that launched the performer's career as a contemporary storyteller. Since then, it's toured hundreds of times across the UK and beyond.
Ten years on, it's back for a special anniversary edition. It's described as every bit as funny, raw and joyous as ever, and it's the same show that started it all. If you're into storytelling that sits somewhere between a wake and a comedy club, this is exactly that kind of night.
