Takuya Nakamura blends deep jazz with electronic production, live on trumpet and behind the decks, supported by edv3ctor and RHI.
Takuya Nakamura plays New Century on Friday 16 October, with edv3ctor and RHI on support. It's a live set, so he'll be on stage rather than just behind the decks, and the night runs from 6pm to 10pm.
Nakamura is a producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist who blends deep jazz roots with electronic production. He studied under jazz legends in Tokyo and Boston before moving to New York, where he helped shape the city's jungle and grime scenes. His live sets are known for their energy, switching between trumpet, keyboards and the decks, and he's performed across the US and worldwide alongside a range of artists from Quincy Jones to The Street and Billy Holiday. That mix of jazz training and club culture is exactly what he brings to the night: the trumpet and keys handled live, with the electronic production running underneath.
