Screen talk with director Danny Boyle, who discusses his career and his film Ink, hosted by Jason Wood.
Danny Boyle is coming to HOME on Friday 16 October for a screen talk, part of the BFI London Film Festival 2026. He'll be joined by Jason Wood, BFI Executive Director of Public Programme & Audiences, and the conversation will cover his career and his latest film, Ink, which is the one showing at the festival. Ink is an adaptation of James Graham's Fleet Street drama, and the talk is a chance to hear Boyle talk through it.
It's a homecoming of sorts. Boyle is a Mancunian director who launched his feature-film career with two Edinburgh-set dramas: the darkly comic thriller Shallow Grave and the era-defining Trainspotting. He followed those with A Life Less Ordinary and The Beach, then revived the horror genre with the zombie thriller 28 Days Later. His Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire and the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony he architected brought him global acclaim, while Steve Jobs, T2 Trainspotting, Yesterday and 28 Years Later showed his range. More recently, he directed Boy Blue's Free Your Mind, the inaugural production of Manchester's Aviva Studios.
