Award ceremony for the Manchester Food and Drink Festival, recognising local restaurants, bars, chefs and independent food businesses across Greater Manchester.
The Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards are coming to City Hall, Medlock Square on Monday 25 January, and it's the first time the ceremony is being held there. It's the city's biggest accolade for local restaurants, bars, cafes, chefs and independent food businesses across Greater Manchester, with nominations coming from both the hospitality industry and the public.
There are 17 categories in total, and the shortlist covers a wide spread — from food trucks to Michelin-star chefs. A panel of the region's leading food and drink critics, writers and industry experts mystery-shop the venues, and their scores run alongside a public vote that closes at midnight on 11 January 2027. Beyond the main categories, the night also honours a Foodie Neighbourhood of the Year and recognises service, wine offerings and low or no-alcohol drinks.
Awards director Alexa Stratton-Powell says the awards shine a spotlight on the talent, creativity and diversity that make the region a world-class food and drink destination. Ben Dutson, Director of Food and Culinary Experience at Therme Manchester, describes Greater Manchester's scene as ambitious, independent and constantly evolving. It's a good summary of what the night is about: the small independents and the high-end spots sitting side by side.
