Stand-up comedy show by Matt Bragg, known for his low-energy, deadpan style and meticulously crafted material.
Matt Bragg is playing The Lowry on Sunday 9 May 2027, with the show starting at 20:00. It's a solo stand-up set, so it's just him on stage for the full hour.
If you've never seen him, the first thing to know is that he's not a high-energy act. He works with a low-energy, deadpan style, and the comedy comes from the contrast between his flat delivery and the material he's working through. It's a carefully constructed approach, and he's been at it for seven years now, performing stand-up across the country.
He's spent a good chunk of that time on the support circuit, opening for a long list of names: Ricky Gervais, Harry Hill, Lloyd Griffith, Suzi Ruffell, Jason Manford, John Bishop, Clinton Baptiste of Phoenix Nights, and Scott Bennett. In 2019 he was selected for Just The Tonic's Big Value showcase at the Edinburgh Festival, and in 2020 he finished as runner-up in Leicester Mercury's Comedian of The Year. There's also a bit of family history to the thing — he's the son of television warm-up man Bobby Bragg, so he grew up around the business.
