Indie rock, folk and blues singer-songwriter Margaret Glaspy performs live at Halle St Peter's.
Margaret Glaspy plays Halle St Peter's on Saturday 17 October, her only Manchester date this autumn. She's an American singer-songwriter who works across indie rock, folk and blues, and this is a headline show rather than a support slot, so the whole night is hers.
If you're not familiar with her, the best place to start is Emotions and Math, the debut album that first got her noticed back in 2016. It's the record that set her sound: raw, guitar-driven intensity balanced with carefully worked melodies. That's the same territory she's still in now, and it's what she'll be drawing from for the set.
Her approach is built on a few distinct things. There's the guitar work, which pulls from indie rock, folk and blues; the songwriting, which is sharp and direct; and the vocal delivery, which stays understated rather than leaning into the big moments. It's a combination that lets the songs do the heavy lifting without too much getting in the way.

She's an American artist, so this is one of the few times she'll be playing over here this season. The gig is at Halle St Peter's in Manchester on Saturday 17 October, and tickets are available at https://comm.tix.to/MargaretGlaspy.
